How much do UGC creators make? What buyers pay

every page ranking for this question was written by someone estimating what creators charge. we are on the other side of the invoice. here is what we pay creators per clip, what buyers pay us, and why the monthly number depends on rebooking rather than on your rate card.

ugc creators get paid per video, not per month. for short reaction clips bought in bulk the rate runs $3 to $5. a scripted ad package with usage rights costs more per unit and sells far less often. your monthly income is that rate multiplied by how often a buyer rebooks you, and rebooking is the number no rate card shows.

nobody ranking for this question has bought a video

we pulled the live results for "how much do ugc creators make" on 23 august 2026, before writing any of this.

  • position 2 is a thread in r/ugccreators asking the same question
  • position 4 is an instagram post
  • position 8 is a salary aggregator
  • position 9 is one creator's income breakdown from july 2022, still ranking in 2026
  • an ai overview sits on top of all of it

then two guides with tier tables, and us at 11.

what google is rewarding on that page is not the guide. it is the person showing actual money. the tier charts are writers estimating what creators charge, which is a different thing from what anyone was paid.

we are on the other side of that invoice. dansugc buys reaction clips from creators and resells them. so here is the buyer's half, which nobody publishes.

two numbers, and people mix them up constantly

what a creator is paid per reaction clip: $3 to $4. dan has said this publicly since september 2025.

what a buyer pays us per clip: $5. that is the pricing page, and dan put the same figure on x in may 2026: "why choose AI slop when you can get same format for $5/video from Real HUMANS" (post, 21 may 2026).

the gap between the two covers sourcing, review, hosting, licensing and payouts. we are publishing both because every rate article on that results page publishes neither.

one caveat before you compare this to a $150 figure you read elsewhere. this is one specific product: short reaction b-roll, no script, no usage negotiation, bought in volume. it is not the only thing the word ugc covers.

the rate is not the income

a rate card that says $150 a video tells you nothing on its own. income is the rate multiplied by bookings, and the second number is the one that collapses.

dan described the old way of sourcing in october 2025: "Old strategy: - find UGC creators in US - negotiate for $20 to $30 per post" (post, 8 october 2025). he also described what the top of that market looks like: "if you're paying $500 per post, you're completely missing out on Eastern European UGC creators who make reaction videos for just $3 each" (post, 7 october 2025).

both quotes are about the same transaction seen from opposite ends. a creator holding out for $500 a post needs one buyer a month to clear $500. a creator at $5 a clip needs that buyer to come back.

the buyer who books you 40 times beats the buyer who books you once

dan's linkedin post about a founder at $3k mrr posting one to two short-form videos a day with zero ad spend

dan posted this on linkedin on 5 august 2026: a founder at $3k mrr, zero ad spend, posting one to two short-form videos a day (post).

run the bookings math on that founder. one to two videos a day is 30 to 60 clips a month, from one account, indefinitely.

at $5 a clip that is $150 to $300 a month from a single buyer who never stops ordering.

now price the same founder at $300 a video. they cannot post daily. the budget buys two videos a month, the posting cadence dies, and so does the account that was feeding you. the high rate did not raise your income. it removed your customer.

this is the part the tier charts cannot show, because they only ever quote one side.

the two products both called ugc

reaction b-roll is 6 to 16 seconds, unscripted, shot to a single emotion, and bought in bulk. that is what sits in our b-roll library and what the $3 to $5 figures describe.

a scripted ad package is a brief, a script, reshoots, usage rights and often exclusivity. it costs far more per unit and a creator sells a fraction of that volume per year.

blending the two into one monthly range is how an article ends up promising $8,000 a month to somebody whose actual calendar holds two bookings. when you read a rate, check which product it priced.

what actually moves your monthly number

  • turnaround. a buyer running daily content reorders from whoever delivered fastest last time.
  • being easy to rebook. one clear rate, no renegotiation per order.
  • shooting a beat rather than a face. buyers order by emotion, so a creator who can hit confused, curious and shocked on demand fills more orders than one who only does happy.
  • volume tolerance. the buyers with steady budgets are the ones ordering constantly at a low unit price.

what we do not know

we did not verify the salary aggregator figure ranking at position 8, and we are not repeating it. we have our own transaction data and no visibility into what any other platform pays.

the honest limit on everything above: it describes our lane. if you sell scripted ad packages with usage rights to consumer brands, your numbers should look nothing like ours, and an article written by a reaction-clip buyer is not your best source.

faq

how much do ugc creators make per month?

there is no per-month rate. creators are paid per delivered video. multiply your per-video rate by your actual monthly bookings, and be honest about the second number.

what is a normal rate for a reaction clip?

we pay $3 to $4 per clip and sell at $5, both figures published above with links to the posts they came from. scripted work with usage rights prices differently.

do you need followers to get paid for ugc?

no. buyers use the footage in their own ads, so the audience is theirs. what gets you rebooked is delivery speed and hitting the emotion that was ordered.

why is $5 so far below the $150 figures elsewhere?

different product and different volume. $150 usually prices a scripted, licensed ad deliverable sold a few times a year. $5 prices an unscripted reaction clip sold constantly.

how do i get on this side of it?

we buy clips continuously and the rate is the one printed above. apply here.
